Jessica Jones Preview And Spoilers, David Tenant Announced To Play Villian Kilgrave [PHOTO]

Netflix is planning to break into the super hero game with its upcoming Daredevil project to be followed up with a Jessica Jones series, and eventually the entire Defenders ensemble. The show is still awhile from being made, but a lot of details have slipped out. Here is what to expect from the show.

First off, the internet has lost its mind over the most recent announcement, ex-Doctor David Tennant will play the villian Kilgrave

Variety reports, "After a tragic ending to her short-lived superhero stint, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City. An enigmatic figure from Jessica's past, Kilgrave reappears, sending shockwaves through the former superhero's world. Mike Colter will also star as Luke Cage. The series was developed by executive producer/showrunner Melissa Rosenberg.

"I'm so honored and excited by the prospect of David inhabiting this multifaceted character," said Rosenberg. "He can deliver the most heart-wrenching moment to the driest of lines, and all points in between. He'll make Kilgrave a truly original villain."

"Anyone familiar with David's work knows he brings an incredible level of dedication to any role he inhabits, a level we knew we would need from the man playing Kilgrave," said Jeph Loeb, executive producer and Marvel's head of television. "While most know him for his roles as a hero, we can't wait to unleash a whole new side of this talented actor."

Screenrant reports, "Right now, the writers' rooms are open and they're looking at casting Jessica. If you sense some hesitation in my voice, that's classic Marvel fashion. They like to keep that veil of secrecy. But Daredevil is already shooting, since that's out first. Eventually the series will run very close together. You can then have a separate season where the characters will cross over [with 'The Defenders']."

This show wasn't really on anybody's radar yet, as it is so far away. But the internet loves it some David Tenant, so expect to be hearing a lot more about this show in the coming weeks.
