K-Pop Crossover: American Rapper Krizz Kaliko Receives Invitation From Bangtan Boys Leader Rap Monster

Could popular boy band Bangtan Boys (BTS) be collaborating with one of the group's favorite rappers?

Recently, American rapper Samuel William Christopher Watson IV, known by his stage name Krizz Kaliko, hinted at a possible collaboration with BTS during an interview on "Mid-Morning Grind."

"Apparently the guy who is the leader of this crew [BTS] has been a fan of mine," said Kaliko.

"In particular [Rap Monster] said, since 2012, is when he's been listening, and so he was like, 'Man, I've listened since 2012, and that and 'Kill Sh*t' are my favorite songs, and... would you be willing to do a song with me,' and I said, 'Of course!"

Allegedly, Krizz Kaliko received a lot of attention from K-pop fans after one of the rapper's songs titled "Spaz" was used in BTS's intro dance for MBC's "Gayo Daejun."

"Prepare to be mind-blown," said a blog post on Strange Music's official website, the record label Kaliko is signed to.

"The production value and intricate movements to Krizz Kaliko's hype anthem will leave you scratching your head as to how something this amazing came together."

Since earlier this month, Kaliko has been in constant communication with BTS on Twitter.

Today, the national music record chart Gaon held its annual "Gaon Chart K-pop Awards" at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul. Here, BTS won the World Rookie Award.
