'Mario Maker' To Miss Its Scheduled Release Date? Wii U Game Not Arriving On First Half Of 2015? 'Project Guard' Delayed, Too?

Bad news for Mario fans out there, the DIY game may be delayed.

The original "Mario Maker" release date is slated for the first half of 2015. However, it seems that it is not the case anymore as Nintendo recently revealed that "Mario Maker" is now getting an even more vague 2015 release date.

"Mario Maker," a design-it-yourself Mario game will now be available for Wii U consoles at some point this year, though a new and specific launch window has not been revealed yet. According to Trusted Reviews, the Wii U title "lets you make your own Super Mario game levels in the style of the NES original or the newer New Super Mario Bros. U, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World."

Moreover, it seems that "Mario Maker" is not the only game that will have a delayed release date. "Project Guard," originally set for an early 2015 launch, has been pushed back as well. The game is one "one of three Wii U GamePad explorations that Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto unveiled last year, puts players in control of a security system that requires careful monitoring of the GamePad and television screens," Polygon noted.

The two Nintendo games were both revealed during the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2014 event.

A number of Wii U games is lined up for release this year. For instance, fans can expect "The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask" this February. Some other games to arrive this year include "Splatoon," "Mario Party 10" and "Kirby and the Rainbow Curse."
