Is Red Dead Redemption Possibly Called Red Dead Revolution In Production, Rockstar And Take Two Tease Announcement, But Is It A Mislead? [PHOTO]

Red Dead Redemption  was one of the most popular games of the year when it came out. Best described as Grand Theft Auto on horseback, the game was an instant success, and fans have been wondering about Red Dead Redemption 2 for years. Rumors of the sequel bubbled up months ago when a senior engineer at Rockstar released some info on his Linked In page.

Rockstar has since said that they plan to reuse the IP, but have not made any announcement, fueling the speculation fires instead of putting them out. In addition Rockstar San Diego hired nearly 30 new people recently indicating a big project is in the works. Others have speculated this mystery project may be a sequel to Agent or Bully. Regardless, here is the rumor round up for Red Dead Redemption 2, which some speculate may be called Red Dead Revolution.

Gamespot reports, "Though the company isn't ready yet to officially talk about a sequel, the developer told fans to "stay tuned" in 2015 for potential news. "As we've mentioned when asked in the past about new games in other series such as Red Dead Redemption, Bully, and L.A. Noire, we don't always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won't get to them eventually," Rockstar said. "We have so many games we want to make and the issue is always one of bandwidth and timing. We thank longtime fans such as yourselves as always for your amazing support and please stay tuned in 2015 for announcements of what's to come from Rockstar Games."

IGN reports Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said, "I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent," he said. "It's obvious that GTA is a permanent franchise as long as we keep delivering this incredible quality; it seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or Borderlands, for example, and NBA and others.

"We haven't given any colour on how you should think about [BioShock] yet except we do believe it's beloved; we think it's important [and] certainly something that we're focused on; something 2K Marin will be responsible for shepherding going forward," he continued. "I think there's a lot of upside in that franchise. It hasn't necessarily been realised yet."

Rockstar clearly has something in the works. Do you think it will be Red Dead Redemption 2, or is it a mislead so they can surpirse us with something completely different? Sound off in the comments below and check back often for more Red Dead Redemption 2 news and updates.
