Oscar Pistorius' Brother Carl Not Facing Trial For Reckless And Negligent Driving? Book On 'Blade Runner' Justifies Murder Of Girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp

The brother of Oscar Pistorius, Carl, might get off the hook and not face trial as the National Prosecuting Authority hasn't decided to charge him with reckless and negligent driving. Meanwhile, a new book on "Blade Runner" seems to justify the murder of girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

The case stemmed from the collision with another vehicle that Carl Pistorius was involved in. Oscar Pistorius' brother was freed by rescuers from the total wreck with the use of the jaws of life device. The other driver was also rushed to the hospital for multiple injuries.

But in a new report from EWN, NPA's Velekhaya Mgobhozi revealed that they already prepared the summons but had to hold off on implementing it for further investigation from the police.

"The NPA took a decision to have a look at the docket again, to have a look at the evidence and decided to send it back for investigation because more evidence was needed," Mgobhozi said.

Police filed a case against Carl Pistorius for reckless and negligent driving after he failed to submit his affidavit recalling his version of the collision.

Meanwhile, a piece from Sydney Morning Herald criticized John Carlin's book, "Chase Your Shadow: The Trials of Oscar Pistorius."

Part of the description of the book says, "Before Valentine's Day of 2013, Pistorius was best known as an extraordinary athlete, the 'Blade Runner' who became the first amputee in history to compete in the Olympics. Everything changed after he shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp dead in the early hours of 14 February. Overnight, the Olympian's status as a role model was replaced by tales of erratic behaviour and a violent dark side."

"Carlin, who followed the drama inside the courtroom, provides a vivid first-hand account of Pistorius's wrenching emotional breakdowns, the merciless interrogation to which he was submitted by the prosecutor, and the highly controversial judgment."

But Dianne Dempsey of SMH wrote that John Carlin's conclusion regarding Oscar Pistorius and his trial was "a spurious justification for a man who shot four bullets into a toilet door where his girlfriend hid, clutching her phone and screaming for help. Pistorius is now serving five years for manslaughter rather than murder. This outcome disguises the seriousness of a crime that was finally obfuscated by a lack of witnesses and hard evidence."
