We compare the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 with regards to their display, hardware, storage, camera, battery life and price comparison to see which one is better.

According to Phone Arena, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has an IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 and ppi of 216. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 according to GSM Arena, has a Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1600 x 2560 and ppi of 359.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 runs on an Exynos 5 Octa 5420 processor clocked at 1.9 GHz Cortex-A15 and 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7, with a 3 GB of RAM and Mali-t628 MP6 GPU. While the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 runs on an Intel Core i7 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz with Intel HD GPU and 8192 MB of RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has an 8MP camera at the back and a 2.1MP camera on the front. The camera has LED flash, autofocus, Geo tagging and other photography features that you can explore with. In comparison, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a 5MP camera at the back and a 5MP camera on the front. It can record video at 1920 x 1080.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a 512 GB built-in storage with a 450 GB maximum user storage. However, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a 16 and 32 GB variants and its storage capacity could be increased up to 128 GB via memory card.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has a 4900 mAh battery while the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a 8000 mAh battery.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 128GB variant costs $899 according to Microsoft Surface Store, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 16GB variant costs $215.50 on Ebay.
