Katy Perry On Dating: 'It's Not Up For Public Consumption'

Katy Perry has always been private about who she's dating and now that she's rumored to be reconciling with John Mayer, she explained that her personal life is not "for public consumption."

In an interview with Billboard magazine, she bowed out of answering the question between her and John Mayer.

"What I will say is that to have any relationship at this level you have to just be protective and figure out how to navigate it," she said. "There is no handbook."

The "Dark Horse" singer added that in her previous dating relationships, she has always guarded about what she say in the press.

"In all my relationships, I've learned how I have to be more careful and that it's not up for public consumption," she added.

In an earlier interview, Katy Perry claimed that she also learned from her past relationships but not before seeing a therapist to thresh out her issues.

Katy Perry and John Mayer started dating in the summer of 2012 after the "Fireworks" singer and Russell Brand divorced following a 14-month union. The two singers finally broke up in February 2014 after rumors that they have gotten engaged.

But earlier this year, they were spotted attending a party at a pal's house and going to her home afterwards.

"The pop stars were said to have arrived separately, and went to great lengths not to be seen together. After the outing, Mayer reportedly spent the night at his ex-girlfriend's home, and didn't leave until the following afternoon," reported NY Daily News.

Radar Online  said that Katy Perry is "ignoring all the red flags" in dating John Mayer once again.

"Although her friends have warned her to be careful, she is already ignoring all of the red flags. She is not listening to anyone and is going into this full force," the source said. "Katy is giving John another chance because she feels like there could be something there."
