Floyd Mayweather Debunks News On Manny Pacquiao Next Fight But Bob Arum Says Deal Almost Done

Floyd Mayweather nixed news reports of his next fight with Manny Pacquiao as a done deal, belying Bob Arum's claim that the contract is about to be signed.

In his social media, Money Mayweather wrote: "Laying back, relaxing, enjoying good weather, palm trees, and piña coladas. While they continue to lie about making the fight... I'm just going to continue to travel and explore the world on my private jet. #FightNotMadeYet."

Previously, TMZ reported that Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao already agreed to the date of their next fight as well as the location, which is going to be in Las Vegas.

"The source says the formal agreement has not been signed but everyone expects the signatures 'soon,'" it said. "Negotiators are putting 'finishing touches' on the deal."

Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports wrote that the contract in the megafight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquio would be easier said than done.

For one, there's the issue of which network will televise the fight as Money is tied with Showtime while Manny Pacquiao is connected with HBO.

"An impasse in those talks is HBO's insistence on being able to show the replay of the pay-per-view, one source said," he wrote. "When the networks worked out a deal in 2002 to broadcast the Mike Tyson-Lennox Lewis fight, they agreed to give the replay to the network of the fighter who won."

In another news report about Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao's bout, Top Rank boss Bob Arum claimed in an ESPN artilce that they can close the fight in the next few days, after the boxers met following a basketball game in Miami last week.

"I think it helped a lot because we were all putting papers together, and there was still a question as to whether Floyd really wanted to do the fight or not," Bob Arum said. "Based on the meeting with Pacquiao in the hotel suite, Manny and [Pacquiao adviser] Michael Koncz were convinced Floyd absolutely wants to do the fight."
