Deftones Ready To Record New Album! Eight Studio Release Expected By The End Of The Year?

After releasing their previous album "Koi No Yokan" in 2012 and the death of bassist Chi Cheng, Deftones is set to release a new album follow up expected to his stores this year.

Chino Moreno and the band confirmed that they are back in the studio last year as they are preparing for recording and writing new material.

Meanwhile, in recent reports by Blabbermouth, Deftones are in the finishing touches of their song writing process and is expected to hit the studio for recording really soon.

MusicStoreLive.com talked to guitarist Stephen Carpenter and revealed that the band is taking it slow but are working on it.

"We are actually writing a new record and we're gonna... We're supposed to be going in to record it next month, but we're taking it as it goes. I mean, we're not all the way ready now, but we've still got time and we're working on it," Carpenter said.

Bassist Chi Cheng's passing has been a tough process for the band and Moreno reveals that moving on from their loss with a new record is tough for them.

"I get asked about that record a lot. For a while, I was giving the same answer, 'No, no, no, no, no, no, no.' After Chi's passing, I went back and listened to some of the record and it was a pretty intense experience, to say the least."

"I think it should be released, but we don't have any definite plans. There's some work to do on it. DEFTONES have been moving forward in a strong, positive motion, so for us to stop and reflect on something five years ago, I don't know if we're ready for that," he added.

With unconfirmed reports as to when their new album will be released, rumors and speculations suggest that the band's eighth studio album is expected to hit the shelves by the end of the year or possibly this Fall.
