Former KARA Member Kang Jiyoung Goes Blond In Trailer For Japanese Movie 'Assassination Classroom'

After leaving DSP Media and K-pop girl group KARA, Kang Jiyoung signed with the entertainment agency Sweet Power to pursue an acting career in Japan. Kang's debut film project will be the upcoming film Assassination Classroom.

After much anticipation, an extended trailer for the film has finally been released, giving fans a glimpse of Kang's new career! In the trailer, the beauty can be seen sporting a shocking blonde wig as she tries to fight a giant, yellow alien who has threatened to destroy the earth.

Assassination Classroom is based on the very popular manga by Yusei Matsui of the same name. The film is about a mysterious alien that obliterated a large portion of the moon. The creature threatens to eliminate the earth next if he isn't allowed to teach a 3-E class at Kunugigaoka Junior High School. The class is full of disappointing, under-achieving students. The alien, now known as Professor Koro, begins to deliver lessons and the bewildered students are tasked by the government to kill the invader at all costs.

Jiyoung plays the role of Irina Jelavić, a professional hit woman hired by the government to kill Professor Koro. She disguises herself as the new part-time foreign language teacher for class 3-E to get closer to the alien.

Assassination Classroom will be released in theaters across Japan on Mar. 21.
