Japanese Trio Babymetal Reveals 8 Stops For World Tour 2015, Vocalist Su-metal Discusses Growing Global Popularity [PHOTO]

Babymetal fans, listen up! The Japanese pop/metal trio has just announced their eight different stops for their World Tour 2015 with dates in Mexico, Canada, the USA, Germany, Austria, and Japan. According to Crunchyroll, all concerts will be taking place during a period between May 9th and June 21st - are you excited yet?

The full list of concert locations and dates can be viewed here, but we will go ahead and list the locations in order for you anyway: 1) Mexico City, Mexico; 2) Toronto, Canada; 3) Chicago, USA; 4) Columbus, USA; 5) Nuremberg, Germany; 6) Munich, Germany, 7) Vienna, Austria, and lastly, 8) Chiba, Japan.

Quite frankly, we are not that surprised about Babymetal's growing global popularity.  Billboard reports that their debut album was ranked #7 on the World Album chart for the year of 2014, making it best-selling Japanese release in the US.

Furthermore, band members Suzuka Nakamoto ("Su-metal"), Yui Mizuno ("Yuimetal"), and Moa Kikuchi ("Moametal") are intriguingly different from many other performing artists. Not only are they teenage Japanese girls performing choreography to pop/metal music, they also have a fascinating gothic, yet cutesy aesthetic.

The group's producer Key Kobayashi (also known as "Kobametal") stated of Babymetal's fame, "Rock music hasn't changed much over its history... When a group from the other side of the world suddenly appears playing something so weird, it captures your attention." That may help to explain how Babymetal's breakthrough song "Gimme Chocolate!!" has generated over 22 million YouTube views since it was published in February 2014.

However, the members of Babymetal themselves are still getting accustomed to becoming globally popular celebrities. Jeff Benjamin of Fuse was able to interview vocalist Su-metal after a recent Tokyo concert, and asked her how she feels about the mounting international support from fans.

She stated, "Last year we were able to play shows outside of Japan, visiting cities that we never dreamed of visiting. To see that there were people there who are supporting what we do was shocking, but more than anything it helps us move forward... I want all our fans abroad to know that I am so glad to have met all of you at our concerts when we were there last year. Thank you for waiting for us! We are coming back, and we can't wait to see you again. Please come see us again!"

We look forward to the beginning of Babymetal's World Tour 2015!
