The March release date for the highly-talked about HTC One M9 has been confirmed as the Taiwanese manufacturer already sent out invites for the smartphone's unveiling.

According to GSM Arena, the HTC One maker, on January, released the invitation for its MWC event which was described by the publication as "pretty simple" with "a starry sky with the words 'Utopia in progress' below the company's logo."

During the event, it is expected that the tech company will unveil two new variants of the HTC One M9, which is also referred to as HTC Hima. On a separate post from GSM Arena, it was noted that the two variants will be HTC One M9 and the HTC One M9 Plus, with both getting the Snapdragon 810 SoC paired with 3 GB of RAM and running on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Moreover, aside from the HTC One M9 release date, new reports about the HTC One M9 or HTC Hima specs are also emerging. A tipster known as LlabTooFer, who is also a developer of HTC ROM, posted tweets about the specs of the HTC One M9.

As cited by International Business Times, one of the tweets from the tipster shared that the primary camera of the next-gen flagship smartphone will feature a 20 MP Toshiba T4KA7 sensor. Toshiba's description for the sensor reads:

"With an optical format of 1/2.4 inch, the T4KA7 sensor enables development of camera modules with a zheight of 6 mm or less to meet consumer demand for thinner and lighter mobile devices. The T4KA7 uses high-speed circuitry to deliver frame rates of 22 fps at full-resolution capture."

Some of the features of the T4KA7 features are Backside illumination (BSI), Picture flip (Horizontal and Vertical), Binning (Horizontal 1/2 (analog), Vertical 1/2, 1/4, 1/6, 1/8), Windowing (Vertical every 2 lines; Horizontal arbitrary - 32 pixel step), Auto defect pixel correction and 16K-bits OTP memory.
