'Birth of A Great Star (Season 1)' contestant, Noh Jihoon makes his soloist debut with the mini album: 'The Next Big Thing.' Under Cube Entertainment's label, Noh Jihoon is ready to start his career and make his mark on the charts. 

While competeing on 'Birth of A Great Star (Season 1), there was controversy of the soloist competeing on the show when he technically debuted already under a stage name. Even though he mention this fact, his mentor on the show (Bang Shihyuk) allowed him to compete regardless.

The mini-album consists of five tracks with his current promoted single, "Punishment." The musicallity gives the audience of Noh Jihoon's vocal genre ranges to acompany the various tempos in the mini-album.

Unfortunately, the romanization of his name is incorrect on the mini-album cover. It's very obvious that his last name/family name is No/Noh not Roh. Yet it seems that even the company isn't making any clarification since they use 'Roh'.

The title track, 'Punishment" has a very bad-boy jazz appeal for his debut song. The instrumentals give nice dynamics in tied with the very smooth choreography in the music video. The lyrical translation and the music video acting unfortunately conflict with each other until a certain point at the bridge. 

The lyrics straightfoward translate that that guy is tortured by the relationship that he was previously in. That he still has some left over emotions towards her. In contrast to the video, that lack of actual acting makes it seem tht the guys is mocking her by following and chasing her around putting the lyrical perspective on the girl than on the guy. The girl is caught at the elevator and even though Noh Jihoon caught her where he wants her. Luckly, the small cuts of foreshadowing makes more sense that the guy is trapped by the girl and abandoned at the end with a smirk on her face- thus showing her true colors

Noh Jihoon had his debut showcase on the mini-album's release date this early November. He's currently promoting on various music programs with "Punishment".
