FTISLAND's Lee Hongki Clarifies Solo Rumors After Fans Fear For Band's Future

FTISLAND’s lead singer Lee Hongki promised fans that he remains loyal to the band.

After Korean media outlet E-Daily announced that several FNC Entertainment idols will be pursuing solo debuts in 2015, FTISLAND fans became concerned for FTISLAND’s future. As the primary singer of FTISLAND, Lee’s voice is integral for the group’s existence, making a solo venture worrying to many fans. Lee commented about the situation on Twitter, promising fans that he has no plans to leave FTISLAND.

“There is some confusion because of talking about a solo album…" wrote the singer on February 16. "It is not confirmed yet, but even if it does [get confirmed,] I will make sure that FTISLAND is not harmed but, rather, will benefit. Do not worry!!”

The tweet was accompanied by a picture of Lee’s hand with “FTISLAND” written on the wrist in pen.

Along with Lee’s potential solo debut, CNBLUE’s guitarist Lee Jonghyun is rumored to be debuting as a solo artist. CNBLUE’s lead singer, Jung Yonghwa, made his solo debut in January with his album, “One Fine Day.”

FTISLAND began 2015 by holding concerts in Europe and the United States. At the group’s show in New York City, Lee Hongki announced that FTISLAND was working to release a self-composed album. Lee spurred comeback rumors by sharing an image on Instagram showing that he had newly dyed his hair light green.
