‘It' Movie Remake To Start Filming In Summer! Stephen King's Hit Horror Novel To Hit Theaters Next Year?

Stephen King's highly acclaimed, best-selling horror novel, "It" is finally taking a step closer into having its movie remake.

Reportedly, the production team is getting ready to begin filming this summer, as Cary Fukunaga, who co-wrote the screenplay, is also set to helm the project.

"The idea is to start official prep in March for a summer shoot [in 2015]. Cary likes to develop things for a while, and we've been with this for about three or four years, so we're super excited that he stayed with it. You guys are gonna be really excited," producer Dan Lin said in an interview with Vulture.

Does this mean that it will hit theaters sometime next year? Speculations suggest that since the remake will start production this summer, it's most likely that it will be released sometime next year.

However, no further details as to when will be the target release date of "It" movie remake has been announced.

Furthermore, the movie producer revealed that the movie adaptation to Stephen King's novel will be released in a two-part series.

"The book is so epic that we couldn't tell it all in one movie and service the characters with enough depth," Lin revealed.

And while, few attempts of "It" movie remake have failed, Lin is quite confident that this one would be different since the famous novelist has reportedly given his blessing to move forward with the project.

"The most important thing is that Stephen King gave us his blessing," said Lin. "We didn't want to make this unless he felt it was the right way to go, and when we sent him the script, the response that Cary got back was, 'Go with God, please! This is the version the studio should make.' So that was really gratifying."
