2NE1’s CL Reveals Hopes Of Becoming Role Model For Asian Youth

Girl group 2NE1 member CL revealed what type of artist she wanted to be during a Complex magazine photo shoot.

“In the states, there are a lot of Korean, Chinese and Japanese people,” said CL during her interview with Complex Magazine. “However, there isn’t a pop artist that they can look up to. It’s kind of sad actually. I want to be someone that they would be proud of.”

During the interview, they also discussed her US debut and working with Scooter Braun.

“Scooter Braun already approved me as an artist,” said CL. “He liked the music that I had done and wanted to bring my style into this album.”

She also revealed what she thought of her image and how it would affect the US music industry.

“I’m not afraid of being sexy or beautiful, but I feel that I have more of a cool image,” she said. “What’s most important is good music. This is not the first time I am going solo. I am going to focus on making good music.”

Complex magazine also revealed a photo shoot behind-the-scenes video as well.

On the other hand, CL has signed with Scooter Braun and has been featured on Billboard, Rolling Stones, Dazed & Confused, MTV IGGY and more.
