CL Denies 2NE1 Disbandment Rumors In Recent Interview

Although Lee "CL" Chaerin will be making her solo debut in America, the 2NE1 leader is putting aside the rumors of the girl group's disbandment once and for all.

On Wednesday, Complex magazine unveiled an interview with the K-pop star for its upcoming March issue. During the interview, CL addressed her upcoming debut as well as 2NE1's current status.

"I feel like it's all about good music at the end of the day," said CL.

"It's not like I'm a rookie. I have been doing this for a long time in Asia. It's just a new market. I have to have good music, so I'm just focusing on that. There are so many Korean people here, and Chinese and Japanese, but they don't have one pop artist that they can look up to. That's kind of sad. I wish I could be that person for them to be proud of."

But unlike earlier rumors, CL clarified that 2NE1 was not disbanded, but on hiatus.

"That's not true," said CL regarding the rumors. "We just finished our tour and everybody gets to take a break now. It's just I don't get a break."

On Feb. 16, 2NE1's Sandara Park uploaded a photo with Black Eyed Peas' apl.de.ap during her trip to the Philippines. Reportedly, she is visiting Manila for the Korean Medical Tourism Fair and this year's Korea Night.

Meanwhile, 2NE1's youngest member Gong Minji has been visiting Los Angeles.

Last week, Minzy uploaded a series of short videos on Instagram. The videos featured her trademark dance moves, choreographed by Antoine Troupe.

"He made this crazy choreography," wrote Minzy. "Do you want to see more?"

Because Minzy alluded to 2NE1's All or Nothing world tour and made multiple versions using the same track, fans are curious to see what this choreography will be used for.
