'Sailor Moon Crystal' Gets New Key Visual For Japanese TV Broadcast [PHOTO]

Just in time for an all new episode of the second part of "Sailor Moon Crystal," a new key visual for the Japanese TV broadcast of the series has surfaced online. It features the series heroine Usagi Tsukino as Sailor Moon with her head tilted back.

As with most "Sailor Moon Crystal" discussions, fans feel extremely divisive about it. Those who like the new version of this popular series however have nothing but positive things to say.

"Beautiful picture, hope it gets good ratings to get all the seasons animated," commented Haterater in an ANN forum.

"The colors are lovely and I have no problem with the stylized art or else I wouldn't like many anime and cartoons out there."

Admittedly, the new key visual of Usagi is a bit more unnatural than most popular series currently airing, but as the above fan points out, sometimes it's necessary to take style as is.

Anime News Network reports that "Sailor Moon Crystal" will begin its broadcast in Japan on April 1, and will air on Tokyo MX, TV Hokkaido, TV Aichi, Sun TV. After its broadcast on those stations, the episodes will air on BS11. The episodes that will air will be the Blu-ray touched up versions as opposed to the versions streamed online.

This broadcast will not disrupt the streamed version of "Sailor Moon Crystal" which will continue with Episode 16 this Saturday. Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Viz Media are simulcasting the streamed version for fans outside of Japan.

If you've somehow never heard of "Sailor Moon Crystal," which is the second anime adaptation of the popular manga series by Naoko Takeuchi, Viz Media provides the following description:

"Usagi Tsukino is a clumsy but kindhearted teenage girl who transforms into the powerful guardian of love and justice, Sailor Moon. Meeting allies along the way who share similar fates, Usagi and her team of planetary Sailor Guardians fight to protect the universe from forces of evil and total annihilation."
