As the 2015 Spring Anime season draws closer, fans are highly anticipating the release date of the sequel to the beloved childhood anime series "Digimon."

It looks like 90s nostalgia isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Although there has yet to be an official release date announcement for "Digimon Adventure Tri," both English and Japanese fans have been scouring the internet for clues about the upcoming series. The latest rumor comes from a transcript that points out that not only will the series premiere in April, but also that the first episode will follow Tai and his digipal Agumon.

The rumor originates on With The Will, in a fan provided transcript of rumor on a Japanese website, Logsoku:

"A mysterious Digimon materializes before Taichi, who has become a high school student, and steals his Digivice. A voice is heard in front of Taichi, who is perplexed after losing Agumon from sight. The adventure once again evolves," reads the comment from user G-santos.

This post made its way to the official subreddit thread containing updates about "Digimon Adventure Tri," making it a somewhat official fan theory. Given that "Digimon" seems to always start with Tai, it has a bit of plausibility. But of course, everything rests on official releases.

Sadly however, DemiDevimon is still blocking the fan clicks that could hatch new digieggs on the official "Digimon Adventure" website, so there's no telling at how long fans might be waiting for news from the producers. Nevertheless, thankfully anime magazines in Japan continue to release character visuals.

"Digimon Adventure Tri" is the sequel series to "Digimon Adventure," which premiered in 1999. The series follows a group of kids who are transported to the digital world in order to save their digimon pals from other evil digimon. Digimon stands for digital monsters. Netflix is currently streaming both the English Dub and original Japanese versions.
