Psy's 'Gangnam Style' Crowned Song of the Year at MAMA 2012

On the evening of November 30th, Mnet's Asian Music Awards took place in Hong Kong bringing artists and fans together as they celebrate the success of various Asian artists, especially in K-Pop. The last and final award that was presented for the night was the Song of the Year awards which defined the song that dominated charts, sales, and even made a global impact

By no surprise, Psy's "Gangnam Style" was given the title. There is no denying that the award was meant for the worldwide phenomenon from the start.

As Psy went up to receive his award, fellow YG Family members Big Bang decided to do the famous horse dance right behind him until he reached the top of the steps. During his thank you speech, Psy personally gave a shout out to his 'hoobaes' ,junior artists that debuted after him, to keep working hard and to also keep the K-Pop and Hallyu Wave strong.

Congratulations to Psy upon receiving the last award of the night. From his performance to receiving 'Song of the Year', it's safe to say that Psy was saved best for last at the 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards.

MAMA broadcasted live from the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and will be rebroadcasted on MNET America.  American fans in Southern California can relive the wonderful show at CGV's special screening of the show at the CGV Cinema in Los Angeles on December 4th.  More information on that can be found on CGV Cinemas Facebook Page.
