Amber Tells Us The True Essence Of Beauty in Elle

Most people just her as the pixie-hair tomboy in five-member girl group f(x), but Amber has just proven that she's more than just that. Having release her first solo album (she's the first in f(x) to do so), Amber has managed to touch her audience with her raw and truthful songwriting that tells the story of struggles and victories. In her photo shoot and interview with Elle magazine, Amber shares to readers a very valuable lesson about loving one's self.

In the photographs, Amber stays true to her signature tomboyish style. In one photo she's wearing striped long sleeves paired with a baggy black jumpsuit. In the other photo, Amber exudes confidence and swag as she sports a glittery black blazer.

In her interview with Elle, Amber shares the times she cried while filming the reality show "Real Men". She stated that even though the challenges were hard, she found the experience very fulfilling and memorable. Amber shared that through the show she had an instant reality check; it helped her open her eyes to reality. "I feel like [before I filmed 'Real Men'] I was living too comfortably. I've developed a sincere respect for people whose work are different from mine," Amber said.

Other than being a good rapper, Amber revealed that she's also a good song writer, too. She personally wrote some of the songs on her album and was very hands-on with the process. Amber said, "Over the past few years, I've been recording my every day thoughts-my happiness and my pain. I summarized all of those emotions in this album. I wanted to re-introduce myself to people through this album."

Amber describes her album as "completely my story". The album is also aptly titled "Beautiful" because it's expresses the message Amber wants to convey. "I want to [tell everyone] that we are all beautiful," Amber mused.

In other interviews, Amber revealed that she was always made fun of because she looked and dressed different compared to most girls. Through this album, Amber tells us never to listen to the dictates of other people. Learn to love and accept yourself no matter who you are.
