Girls' Generation Prepares First Music Release After Line Up Change This April In Japan

The Girls' will be back in April with eight members, reports Korean media.

On February 25, Star News reported that Girls' Generation will make a Japanese comeback in April. This will be the first comeback for the SM Entertainment girl group since Jessica Jung left the group in 2014.

Girls' Generation will release the Japanese single "Catch Me If You Can" on April 22.

An SM Entertainment representative announced that Girls' Generation will be releasing their ninth Japanese single in April, the group's first Japanese release since 2013's "Galaxy Supernova" and "My Oh My" from the group's "Love & Peace" album.

The eight members will head to Japan in March in preparation of the comeback.

This is the first comeback that the girl group is making since Jessica departed the once-nine-member group in September 2014, following a conflict of interest between Jessica business running fashion line Blanc & Eclare and SM Entertainment's set activities for the group.

In January, Girls' Generation's Yuri assured fans that the idol group would make a comeback in 2015 with eight members.

Fellow member Tiffany also shared a hint on Instagram, showing a picture of herself in the recording studio. However, the picture may have been from Tiffany recording the song "Only One" for the soundtrack of Korean television drama, Blood.

It is unknown whether the Japanese comeback will be followed by Korean activities.

Along with Girls' Generation's Japanese comeback, there are reports that former member Jessica will be making a debut as a solo artist in Japan. The singer shared a picture on Instagram that showed herself sitting in a recording studio, leading to speculation.

Girls' Generation's last release with nine members was "Mr.Mr," released in February 2014. The group's subgroup, Girls' Generation-TTS, released "Holler" in September 2014.
