Se7en And YG Entertainment Officially Part Ways, G-Dragon Reminisces On Instagram

Twelve years after debuting, Se7ens's relationship with YG Entertainment has officially ended.

The solo artist know as Se7en (Choi Dong Wook) will no longer remain under one of South Korea's largest entertainment agencies, following his military discharge, reports the K-Pop Herald.

Se7en's contract with YG Entertainment expired in 2013, immediately prior to Se7en's enlistment into the Korean army to fulfill his mandatory service. Se7en's future at YG was continuously questioned throughout his time in the army, particularly after the singer became involved in a widely-publicized massage parlor scandal. On February 25, insiders confirmed that the two parties had split.

Prior to debuting, Se7en had been a trainee under YG Entertainment for three years, marking an end to a total of fifteen years that the singer was under the management company.

During his time in the military, Se7en was caught visiting a massage parlor that was allegedly a front for adult entertainment. Se7en was reprimanded and served jail time for going to unauthorized activities while on leave from the army in order to perform at a concert.

Questions arose about Se7en's relationship with YG Entertainment following the scandal. Shortly after the scandal was made public, the company announced the long-passed expiration of Se7en's contract. After Se7en's discharge, YG Entertainment did not clarify Se7en's standing with the company.

Despite no longer being signed with the company, YG Entertainment sent a car to greet Se7en at his military discharge.

After the news broke, Se7en shared a YG Family picture on Instagram, with the message, “THANK U YG FAM! I'll never forget... #remember #forever #love #YGfamily.”
