American Horror Story Season 5 Casting: Lady Gaga's Illuminati connections may have nothing to do with her first TV role, but the "Born This Way" singer has hypnotized the FX network.

FX announced that Lady Gaga signed on to star in American Horror Story season 5. No details about Lady Gaga's character have been revealed.

Production is expected to start in July. American Horror Story Season 5 will premiere during Halloween season, in October. There is no word yet on whether Jessica Lange will return.

Lady Gaga recently channeled her inner Julie Andrews to stun the audience at the Academy Awards, bringing her immense vocal chops to "Sound of Music." She is currently touring behind her duet album with the legendary jazz vocalist Tony Bennet.

"American Horror Story." Is executive produced by Ryan Murphy.

"It always just comes down to pure fandom with me," Murphy told Variety about securing such notable names as Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates and Michael Chiklis into the series. "I just speak from the heart about why I love them."

"American Horror Story: Freak Show," broke ratings records. The premiere of American Horror Story Season 4 was the most-watched telecast in FX history.

Lady Gaga recently announced that she is getting married to actor Taylor Kinney, who stars in NBC's "Chicago Fire."

Gaga is not the first musician to be featured on "American Horror Story," Stevie Nicks was conjured by the dark witches of Salem, who had relocated to New Orleans. Nicks made her acting debut as a willowy witch who was emulated by a woodsy wiccan.
