Looks like Lady Gaga was inspired by her boyfriend Taylor Kinney's acting career! After the recent announcement of Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney's engagement, FX has revealed that the "Applause" singer will star in the upcoming "American Horror Story" season 5.

Lady Gaga has never had a regular TV role before this. But the pop singer is no stranger to acting: the singer, born Stefani Germanotta, starred in Robert Rodriguez's "Machete Kills" and made a cameo in his "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For." She also had a bit part as "Girl at the Swimming Pool" in a Season 3 episode of "The Sopranos."

Last week, Lady Gaga revealed that she was engaged to her boyfriend of three-years, Taylor Kinney, when she shared a photo of her heart-shaped diamond engagement ring on Instagram.

The 28-year-old singer revealed that the 33-year-old actor asked her to marry him on Valentine's day. According to Us Weekly, they later celebrated at Gaga's family's restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

Gaga and Kinney first met on the set of her 2011 video for "You & I."

And it looks like Kinney may have had a positive influence on Gaga: he has a flourishing TV acting career of his own, and maybe this inspired his girlfriend to try her luck as well.

According to IBTimes.com, Kinney first made it big with his role as U.S. Navy Seal Jared in 2012's "Zero Dark Thirty" but he's most known for being a series regular on NBC's "Chicago Fire" as Lt. Kelly Severide. Taylor Kinney also had a small roll as Mason Lockwood in the CW's "The Vampire Diaries."

Production on "American Horror Story" season 5 is expected to start in July, with the limited series premiering October 2015.
