Universal To Step In Birdman, Lil Wayne's Feud? Turk Also Wants To Go Out Of Cash Money

Universal Music Group is reportedly stepping into escalating feud between Lil Wayne and Birdman as Turk reportedly also wants out of Cash Money label.

According to Cliz Beats, Universal, which distributes Cash Money records under exclusive contract, is stepping in because the money Lil Wayne was asking already ballooned to $51 million.

"Recognizing the ripple effect of damage this suite could cause for all parties involved, Universal is prepping to step in and pay Cash Money's $10 million debt to Wayne," the article said.

But the problem is the feud between Lil Wayne and Birdman has already hurt some egos and Cash Money is reportedly withholding the $10 million as a "power play."

"If this is true," said Cliz Beats, "it's hard to imagine that they'll be able to continue the harmonious working relationship that first characterized Birdman and Lil Wayne as hip hop's surrogate father and son."

All may not be lost on the Lil Wayne and Birdman feud, however, as TMZ reported that Christina Milian's rumored boyfriend is willing to forget the whole thing and stay on the Cash Money label for the right price.

"There are 2 payments that have irked Wayne -- he says he was owed $8 million when he went into the studio to record 'Tha Carter V' in December 2013, and another $2 mil when he completed the album last month," the gossip news site said

If Birdman just pays Lil Wayne the $10 million, the feud will immediately deescalate because it would "essentially eliminate any breach of contract." That's allegedly what Universal is banking on.

"That means Wayne would have no legal basis to ask out of the contract. Even though Wayne's suing for $51 million, most of that is predicated on future lost profits which would not be an issue if they settle," the TMZ reported.
