'Assassin's Creed' Movie Casting News: Marion Cotillard, Oscar-Nominated Actress, On The Lookout For Comedies

Assassin's Creed Movie Casting News: Marion Cotillard, Oscar-nominated actress for role in "Two Days, One Night," was recently cast in the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie. The French actress recently said she is looking for comedy roles.

"I hope we're going to see more of me in comedies," Cotillard told the assembled press while walking the red carpet at the Academy Awards. "I wish I can find my way into comedies. Sometimes it's hard to live with dark ... characters all the time."

Cotillard, who starred in films "Very Long Engagement," "Nine," and "The Immigrant," said that her Oscar-nominated role as a woman suffering from depression in a further depressed job environment is a universal story.

"She's a woman, but I don't think it's just a struggle of a woman," Cotillard said. "Men and women can face the absurdity of our society's choosing money over human people."

Cotillard is currently helping the fight  to bring awareness to global warning.  Cotillard joined French President François Hollande to a UN climate summit in Paris to show her support for the France-Philippines partnership on the environment.

Cotillard has been a long-time campaigner for the environmental action group Greenpeace.

The actress wore French stripes, a hat and crutches, according to Rappler. Com.

When the press asked her if she was well, Cotillard replied "Oh, nothing serious."

Cotillard was nominated for a best actress Oscar for "Two Days, One Night" and won the Academy Award for her role in the 2008 film "La Vie en Rose." Marion Cotillard doesn't do many blockbusters, thought she starred in "The Dark Knight Rises," directed by Christopher Nolan, and "Inception," directed by Steven Soderbergh. She's also had a small role in "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues."

New Regency and Ubisoft announced that Marion Cotillard will join her Macbeth co-star alongside Michael Fassbender in the upcoming film adaptation of the hot video game "Assassin's Creed."

According to Deadline magazine, the new "Assassin's Creed" reunites Macbeth's award-winning actress Marion Cotillard with Michael Fassbender. This year's forthcoming Macbeth was directed by Justin Kurzel (The Turning), who is directing the live-action adaptation of the Ubisoft video game.

No word yet on Cotillard's role. The Assassin's Creed video game series has featured several female Assassins.

The Assassin's Creed movie was officially confirmed for a December 21, 2016 release.
