"Fashion Police" news reported how host Giuliana Rancic's apology was accepted by Zendaya Coleman following the former's marijuana comments.

According to "Fashion Police" news from Hollywood Life, the 18-year-old singer and actress accepted the mainstay's apology aired on E! soon after their controversial Oscars 2015 fashion review.

The now infamous episode had Giuliana Rancic criticizing Zendaya Coleman for having her hair on dreadlocks, saying she must have smelled like patchouli oil or weed.

After the outrage caused by Giuliana Rancic's comments about Zendaya, the "Fashion Police" host made news by quickly saying sorry for the misunderstanding.

"People are offended, including Zendaya, and that is not okay," Giuliana Rancic said.

"Therefore, I want to say to Zendaya, and anyone else out there that I have hurt, that I am so, so sincerely sorry."

Zendaya Coleman replied via Instagram and lengthily explained the background regarding why Giuliana Rancic's comments were offensive.

"Studies have shown that even though we try to act without prejudice, sometimes it's just hidden inside us due to our past or surroundings. That hidden prejudice is often influential in our actions," she said.

"Body shaming and other hurtful tactics will never get the job done. As hard as it was to stop MYSELF from being ignorant and from posting the first mean words that came to my mind because I was hurt, I had to think about the bigger picture."

"Instead I sat for two hours on my phone, doing my research and formulating an educated response," Zendaya Coleman explained.

The teen star also explained how her fans - mostly young girls - look up to her as an example. This supposedly caused her to take the higher road by reaching out to the "Fashion Police" host that made news.

"Giuliana, I appreciate your apology and I'm glad it was a learning experience for you and for the network," Zendaya said.

"I hope that others negatively affected by her words can also find it in their hearts to accept her apology as well."
