With CL slated to have her solo debut in America, could her 2NE1 bandmate Minzy be joining her?

Earlier this week, 21-year-old Gong Minji excited fans by releasing a series of song snippets on Instagram. Given her recent activites in Los Angeles and the fact that all the lyrics were in English, many are wondering if 2NE1's main dancer is preparing for a solo debut.

"[YG Entertainment] what are you waiting for?" wrote Vyonce on allkpop. "Debut her as a solo act."

At the beginning of the month, Minzy also shared short videos showing off her trademark dancing skills, featuring choreography by Antoine Troupe.

"He made this crazy choreography," wrote Minzy. "Do you want to see more?"

Because Minzy alluded to 2NE1's All or Nothing world tour and made multiple versions using the same track, fans are curious to see what this choreography will be used for.

If Minzy debuts as a solo artist, she won't be the only 2NE1 member doing so this year, as Lee "CL" Chaerin is slated to make her English debut this spring.

"I feel like it's all about good music at the end of the day," said CL to Complex magazine.

"It's not like I'm a rookie. I have been doing this for a long time in Asia. It's just a new market. I have to have good music, so I'm just focusing on that. There are so many Korean people here, and Chinese and Japanese, but they don't have one pop artist that they can look up to. That's kind of sad. I wish I could be that person for them to be proud of."

But unlike earlier rumors, CL clarified that 2NE1 was not disbanded, but on hiatus.

"That's not true," said CL regarding the rumors. "We just finished our tour and everybody gets to take a break now. It's just I don't get a break."
