'Jumanji 2' Movie Remake Confirmed To Be In The Early Stages? Plot Details Speculated!

Rumors about a possible "Jumanji 2" movie remake has been circulating the internet as of late, with claims starting from the confirmation of the movie, up until the cast members being announced.

As previously reported, Columbia Pictures seem to be set on making a second Jumanji film. Douglas Belgrad, President of the said picture company has announced that they will try to recreate a Jumanji film. He confirmed this during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. In the interview, he was asked whether there are any areas in his slate that he wants to strengthen along with his bosses.

"Michael has created a bit of a mandate to do more in the family space," he said. "It involves animation [which Belgrad doesn't oversee], hybrid and live action. Michael's impact on the studio is great; he helped reel in The Smurfs property. We're going to try and reimagine Jumanji and update it for the present."

Alan Parrish was played by recently deceased actor, Robin Williams, Sarah Whittle is played by Bonnie Hunt. Other cast members from the first film included Kirsten Dunst as Judy Shepherd, Bradley Pierce as Peter Shepherd, and Jonathan Hyde as Sam Parrish.

While the cast members have yet to be announced for the upcoming film, screenwriter Zack Helm has been rumored to be onboard for the script, and Matt Tolmach and Bill Teitler are rumored to produce it.

News about the movie being a remake has also surfaced, following the recent passing of the main actor for the original film, Robin Williams. After his passing, fans were sure that the next Jumanji film would not be a sequel, but a remake as well. They also took note of Belgrad's statement where he said they plan to "update" the film for the present.

Plot details are also being speculated by fans. According to them, rumors about the story focusing on the life of another family will take place.
