'Supremely Confident' Adam Lambert Hits Stage With Queen; Former 'American Idol' Eyes Working With Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran

A "supremely confident" Adam Lambert commanded attention as he performed on stage with Queen at the SSE Arena Wembley in London, England.

"Pouting, thrusting and flirting his way through the two-hour live seat, his bucketless energy and enthusiasm for Queen's back catalogue is clear," Jonathan Bown of UK's Express wrote in his review. "The man who could be Mercury's young apprentice is having the time of his life - as are May and Taylor, who are clearly enjoying the injection of energy Lambert brings to proceedings."

He added that Queen + Adam Lambert works because of the "American Idol" alum's ability to balance the very fine line of being the new guy who joins an established band while also "remaining reverential to the former frontman's legacy."

Of course, it doesn't hurt that Adam Lambert has the vocal range to match Freddie Mercury's.

"Lambert isn't apologetic for not being Freddie Mercury - he's clearly aware that even after so long, the moustached maestro's shadow looms large," the reviewer said.

In other news, Adam Lambert is also working on a solo album in the middle of his tour with Queen.

Speaking to Mirror, he said that he would love to collaborate with Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran, who were big winners in the Brit Awards 2015.

"There's a lot of great singers here tonight. The UK is pumping outt incredible vocalists," he said. "If there's a popular singer right now, it's probably coming out of here."

Aside from Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, Adam Lambert also said that he would love to work with Ella Eyre and Jess Glynne.

For his solo album, Adam Lambert said, "I have some collaborations but I can't really talk about them yet unfortunately."

Earlier, Adam Lambert credited his collaboration with Queen, as well as his stay in Europe, for influencing his new album.
