According to Hello Magazine, Shakira linked her experience of having a second baby boy to the work that she is doing for UNICEF and babies and mothers all around the world.

"As the time of my son's birth grew closer, I was full of anticipation," Shakira said. "Nonetheless, with every gift that was given, I thought of mothers who couldn't count on even the most basic resources for their children."

"What I never want to forget, or stop questioning, is why every child and mother doesn't enjoy that same sense of security," she continued, explaining her choice of charity baby shower. "The positive response to the shower was overwhelming and emotional. I like to think that my son will feel proud one day that the celebration of his birth impacted so many others."

The 37-year-old singer, though a little late, is on the track of having a herd of babies. In an interview with Latina magazine in April, she admitted, “I would love to have eight or nine kids with Gerard — my own futbol team.”

Though nine isn’t quite enough to fill a soccer team, it’s a respectable number to start off with.
