'Cheongdamdong Alice' Incorporates New 'Creator' System

SBS weekend drama "Cheongdamdong Alice," revealed that the reason its story is set in stone is thanks to the creator system.

The drama deals with the average girl who is trying to marry into a rich household in Cheongdamdong and it's a social commentary and a romantic comedy.

As soon as it premiered, it drew a lot of attention on line for the actors and the well thought-out story. After the episode, they showed a 'creator' credit. This refers to a writing system that is commonly used in the US and American dramas.

A creator system involves a lot of writers coming together and creating new ideas for the drama rather than just one writer doing so. After coming up with the bare bones, one assigned writer will add the meat to the episode.

The creator, KP&SHOW is the writer company created by writers Kim Young Hyun ("Dae Jang Geum") and Park Sang Yeon ("JSA: Joint Security Area"). The two of them have already written two dramas, 2008 "Best Chil Woo" and 2011 "Royal Family."

"Cheongdamdong Alice" writers Kim Ji Woon and Kim Jin Hee were the first writers to be found by KP&SHOW and they were able to learn from these veteran writers on dramas like "Queen Seondeok" and "Deep Rooted Tree."
