JYJ's Jaejoong To Enlist In Korean Military This Month Alongside Super Junior Member Sungmin

The first member of K-pop trio JYJ will enlist in the Korean army in March.

Kim Jaejoong, a member of male idol group JYJ, will be enlisting in the Korean army at the end of March, announced JYJ's entertainment agency, C-JeS Entertainment.

Kim joins the lineup of several popular Korean idols, who will be enlisting in the Korean army in March to fulfill their mandatory military service. Kim will reportedly enlist on the same day as Super Junior member Sungmin.

A C-Jes Entertainment representative confirmed the news to Korean outlet Newsen on March 4.

"JYJ's Kim Jaejoong is confirmed to enlist in the army on March 31," the rep said.

Kim will be active until two days before he enlists, when he appears publicly for the last time prior to enlistment. The singer-actor will hold 2015 Kim Jaejoong Concert In Seoul with his fans on March 28 and 29 at the Korea University Tiger Dome.  

The JYJ member is currently appearing in the KBS drama Spy, playing the lead role of Kim Seo Nu, a South Korean spy who is unknowingly the son of a former North Korean spy.

His last album with JYJ, "Just Us," was released in July 2014, and Kim Jaejoong's last solo release was his Japanese repackage album "WWW Keshou" in January 2014.

Kim debuted as a member of SM Entertainment group TVXQ in 2003, and left the company in 2009. He and two former members, Park Yoochun, and Kim Junsu, formed JYJ in 2010. Kim has also pursued a career as an actor and solo singer since then.

Park and Kim are also expected to enlist in the Korean army to fulfill their mandatory service in 2015.

Super Junior's Sungmin and Shindong will also enter the Korean army in March 2015. Actor Choi Jun Hyuk will also enlist. Sungmin and Jaejoong will enlist on the same day, March 31.
