Girl's Day Member Minah Prepares For Solo Debut Later This Month

In as early as a couple of weeks, fans of Girl's Day member Minah will be able to hear her solo debut album.

Her agency, DreamT Entertainment, has confirmed that Minah, the visual and main vocalist, will be the first in the four-member girl group to launch a solo music career, according to allkpop.

"Minah's first solo album will come out around mid March," the agency was reported to have said. "We are trying to decide which would be better between a dance and ballad track."

Minah's solo debut comes at a time when Girl's Day has soared in popularity. Last month, Sports Chosun's 2015 annual girl group rankings put Girl's Day a tier shy of the Unbreakable Wall where super popular acts like 2NE1, Girls' Generation and SISTAR reside. Girl's Day had quite a successful 2014 with hits like "Something" - their highest-charting single, and "Darling" gaining them more fans and popularity.

Aside from Minah's upcoming solo debut, other Girl's Day members have been ramping up their solo activities.

Yura has been charming viewers on We Got Married with onscreen partner actor Hong Jong Hyun, and she is set to star in the mini web drama Love Detective Sherlock K with INFINITE's Sunggyu.

Similarly, Hyeri has been appearing on the small screen as Min Woo-jung, the supporting female lead in the ongoing SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama Hyde, Jekyll, Me starring Hyun Bin and Han Ji-Min.

Sojin, meanwhile, was featured in Hongdae indie band Party Street's "On Rainy Days" MV last month.
