MR.MR Member Ryu Reacts To Contract Termination On Twitter

In another case of contentious idol-agency partings, Winning Insight M has announced that MR.MR's maknae Ryu has departed from the group -- news that rattled the idol and led him to air his grievances on Twitter.

The debacle began when Winning Insight M announced Ryu's departure on the group's fan cafe, saying:

"Our youngest Ryu, who's received a lot of love until now, has ended his contract with the company due to inevitable reasons, and we have to sadly announce that he will be leaving the group. The reasons for ending the contract include differences in music and understanding others. We hope for your understanding," according to the English translation from allkpop.

The agency added that it was "truly sorry" to announce Ryu's exit, which would whittle down MR.MR to four members from the original seven when the group debuted two years ago in late 2012.

But Ryu expressed surprise at the news, posting his reactions on Twitter, before setting off a chain of claims that the agency had mistreated him.

"The words spoken by the agency are false," Ryu claimed in a tweet from March 4. "Personally, it hurts my heart a lot."

Over multiple Twitter posts, the singer shared some of his experiences as a member of MR.MR under the leadership of Winning Insight M.

His first complaint centered on an incident where he was allegedly hit near his ear and subsequently lost consciousness. He further claims that he tried to ask for a reimbursement from the resulting hospital fee when he had his injury treated, but he said the agency called him money-hungry.

Another complaint Ryu posted were contract issues where he was asked to do activities to which he did not agree. Winning Insight M has yet to respond to the allegations, but if previous idol-agency conflicts are any indication, this will either be settled soon or result in a protracted publicity war.
