Flea Promises Something ‘Different’ From New Red Hot Chili Peppers Album; Band Begins Recording

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are ready for their new album as the band reportedly checked in at a studio to start the band's recording process.

In a previous interview with RHCP bassist Flea, the 52-year-old musician revealed that the band is now in the studio recording tracks for their 11th studio album.

The report came after the band finished with their song writing process.

"We're nearly finished writing," Flea said in January. "We'll go in the studio sometime in the next couple of months."

Meanwhile, more news about the Red Hot Chili Peppers new album came after the bassist tweeted a supposed surprise claiming that Danger Mouse is producing their record. The tweet, however, was later taken down.

"Bout to start recording. Danger Mouse producing..... Let's hang soon," he tweeted.

In another interview, Flea and drummer Chad Smith claimed that fans should be ready for something "different" in the album. A more danceable and unique sound is expected in their upcoming LP.

"The new album is shaping up good," Smith said. "We've got lots of songs, and we're working with an unnamed producer who is really challenging us to find new ways to come up with new music. We've done the 'guys get in the room and jam out songs, everybody playing together all at once' thing."

"And we wrote a bunch of songs that way. And we're now going to try another method that will be really challenging for us and will bring new, exciting results for the band. We've written and recorded in a way that we've never done before, so the record is going great. We all have high hopes that it's going to take off and we're going to do something very different and unique for the Red Hot Chili Peppers."
