F-ve Dolls Become 4th K-Pop Girl Group To Disband In 2015

F-ve Dolls (formerly known as 5dolls) is the latest K-pop girl group to disband.

Korean girl group F-ve Dolls officially disbanded, confirmed MBK Entertainment on March 10. MBK Entertainment also announced that some members of F-ve Dolls remain under contract and will start a new girl group. F-ve Dolls joins Jewelry, GLAM, and Bob Girls as female K-pop acts that have disbanded in the first half of 2015.

F-ve Dolls had reportedly disbanded in 2014, after the group's biography was no longer included on MBK Entertainment's website. However, confirmation from MBK Entertainment only came in March.

"Those members who still have exclusive contracts will launch as part of a new girl group. It looks like F-ve Dolls will no longer release music as a team. We're currently planning for some of the members to debut as part of a new girl group," said a MBK rep.

This is the second time that two members of F-ve Dolls, Hyoyoung and Hyewon, have been part of a group that was disbanded. The three had previously been part of MBK Entertainment's co-ed group, Coed School.

F-ve Dolls was the sister group to male idol group SPEED, which also originally began as an offshoot of Coed School.

MBK Entertainment's statement confirms that 2015 has become the final year for several K-pop acts. The longest running girl group, Jewelry disbanded at the beginning of January, followed by the disbandment's of GLAM and Bob Girls due to situations with members. In comparison, 2014 witnessed only four K-pop acts (including F-ve Dolls) formally disbanding.

F-ve Dolls, then known as 5dolls, debuted in 2011, with the song "Like This, Like That." The group's final mini album, "First Love," was released in 2013. The five members last promoted title track, "Can You Love Me" in September 2013.
