‘Hart Of Dixie’ Cancelled; Rachel Bilson To Have More Time For Hayden Christensen And Their Daughter Briar Rose

It is officially confirmed that "Hart of Dixie" has been cancelled because of questionable ratings. And now it has been reported that with the show off the air, its lead star Rachel Bilson will have more time for partner Hayden Christensen and their baby daughter.

While the CW series aired for four seasons, it recently witnessed a drop in its ratings. In 2011, Rachel Bilson's show was able to attract 1.88 million viewers. However, the number of viewers for the season openers dropped.

In 2012, the season's pilot episode attracted 1.53 million viewers and in 2013, the number further went down to 1.03 million. In 2014, "Hart of Dixie" season 4 pilot episode managed to draw 1.22 million viewers. The ratings of the show continued to fluctuate.

Prior to the "Hart of Dixie" cancellation, Rachel Bilson charmed viewers through her character Dr. Zoe Hart who went to the quaint Bluebell town to take on the role of a general practitioner.

When Rachel Bilson got pregnant with her first baby with Hayden Christensen, the show's writers decided to make her character pregnant too. In the show, Zoe got pregnant with her on-screen boyfriend, Wade.

It was also through show creator Leila Gerstein that fans got to know about the "Hart of Dixie" cancellation. She tweeted:

"The final three episodes of #HartofDixie begin tonight. Buckle up, I think you will enjoy the ride. Xo

As per E! News, Gerstein also previously hinted about the show's impending cancellation.

"Everyone is going to be satisfied that by the end of the 10 episodes, all the central love triangles have been resolved, all the central questions have been answered and we're going to have a lot of fun along the way"

Meanwhile, Scott Porter also took to social media to talk about the show's cancellation. He wrote, "Folks wondering why #HartOfDixie got canned? Simple numbers game folks. Ratings still matter and dictate wins and losses. You have to WATCH."

The series finale will be airing on March 27 on the CW.

With the show's cancellation, the "O.C" actress will surely have more time to focus on her baby, Briar Rose, whom she gave birth to last October 2014. Rachel Bilson and Christensen have been together since 2008 after meeting on the set of "Jumper."
