Korea's Dream Concert 2015 Becomes Worldwide Trending Topic On Twitter After Artist Lineup Is Announced

The words "Dream Concert" trended worldwide on Twitter during the early hours of March 18, and while some non-K-pop fans wondered if it was because of a One Direction concert, K-pop fans grew excited as information about one of K-pop's largest annual concerts was announced.

The lineup for Dream Concert, an annual South Korean event that brings together numerous Korean acts to promote a positive theme, will include many top K-pop acts including EXO and Sistar. The 2015 theme, "Love Korea," and the concert lineup were announced the same day that Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism announced the May date of the event.

According to Naver, multiple top acts will perform, including performers from two of the top three entertainment companies in South Korea.

SHINee, EXO, and Red Velvet will represent SM Entertainment, while JYP Entertainment will be represented by GOT7. Cube Entertainment, another of Korea's top entertainment agencies, will be represented by 4Minute and BTOB, while numerous acts from various other Korean agencies will also perform.

Popular male idol groups INFINITE, VIXX, and B1A4 while girl groups like Sistar, T-ara, and EXID will also perform at Dream Concert 2015.

Several of the groups, like 4Minute, VIXX, and Red Velvet, released new music in 2015, while other groups - EXO, SHINee, and INFINITE- announced that they will be making a comeback prior to the concert. Other groups are also likely to release new singles or albums prior to Dream Concert 2015.

It is also expected that additional musicians will be added to the lineup.

The 2015 Dream Concert will be held at Seoul World Cup Stadium on May 23, and is sponsored by the Korea Entertainment Producers Association.
