MBLAQ Plan April Comeback As Trio

MBLAQ is scheduled for a return within the next few weeks, but this time as a trio.

The recent announcement came directly from J. Tune Camp, the male group's agency since their debut. The Korea Herald reports that an official from the agency stated that, "MBLAQ will release a new EP in late April or early May." This is the first time that the group will have a comeback without recently departed members Lee Joon and Thunder.

MBLAQ--now composed of leader Seungho, vocalist G.O. and rapper Mir--made their debut as a quintet in the fall of 2009 with the release of "Oh Yeah," a pop dance track. The group gained much exposure through their association with former labelmate Rain and the developing acting career of Lee Joon. The group released "Winter," their seventh EP, and performed their final concert, Curtain Call, as 5-member group in late 2014 before the amicable split.

Currently, Lee Joon is staring in SBS Network's Heard It Through the Grapevine as Han In-sang. Thunder, who will now perform under the name Park Sang Hyun, has signed with APOP, a division of Mystic Entertainment.

MBLAQ fans, called A+, are hopeful that the group's return is successful and are taking to social media to share their thoughts. A fan in one Facebook group shared, "It won't be the same but it's a new journey for [the remaining members]." Another fan on Facebook community page said, "I still can't accept they are a trio now."
