This Year's Music Wrap Up: First Half of the Year, 'Idol'+Last Half of the Year, 'Solo'

This year, we were able to see that the idol groups did gain as much attention as previous years. With the start of indie group Busker Busker to Psy's global popularity, other genres of music seem to be making their way up to the top. During the last half of the year, solo artists such as Lee Hi, Gain, Naul and more began to gain more and more attention.

Star News came up with a '2012 January-November Hot 290 Songs' series to showcase all the highlighted moments in music this year.

In the second series, we can take a look at the monthly top10 songs for this year.

Many idol groups can be seen in the first half of the year such as T-ARA, Big Bang, SISTAR, Wonder Girls and more.

However, starting around August, Psy's song became a huge hit as well as BoA's comeback. Seo In Gook and Jung Eunji's duet song also gained much attention.

Around October, Gain's solo song as well as Epik High's comeback gained much popularity as well.

Many indie bands received much support during the last half of the year such as Primary.

It can be seen clearly through these charts that over the years, idols have begun to drop from these charts. From 2008-2011, many idols could be seen high on the charts, however, this year, more solo and indie artists could be seen ranking high on the charts.
