Lucy Liu, Elementary Director Season 3, Says She Envies ‘Completely Goofy’ Comic Actors

Lucy Liu, "Elementary" director for Season 3, is famous for her role in the movies "Charlie's Angels" and "Kill Bill," her TV role of Ling Woo in "Ally McBeal," and most recently as Sherlock Holmes' female costar the series Elementary. But the 46-year-old actress says she'd love to appear in more comedies.

''Just being completely goofy. I love people who have a sense of humor," Lucy Liu told Metro magazine. ''I really enjoy 'The Big Bang Theory', I think it's incredible funny. And there are so many wonderful British shows, too, hysterical."

Liu got to work with some very funny actors.

''Ophelia Lovibond, she was just in 'Elementary', I wish she could come back but she's doing a comedy now and I'm so jealous," Liu told Metro. ''I don't know what it is. To do that every day would be heaven.''

Lucy plays Dr. Watson on "Elementary" season 3, to Jonny Lee Miller's modern-day Sherlock Holmes, admitted she had some challenges directing Thursday's episode on The View. Liu directed her first episode of "Elementary" last season.

On the latest episode of the CBS detective drama Elementary, the modern day sleuths have to solve a mystery about pregnant zebras which go missing from the Bronx Zoo. The episode had to be shot on location which was deterred by a surprise snowfall.

"They said it was just going to be some flurries," Liu said on The View. "We could have been in Alaska. The snowflakes were this big."

Besides "Elementary," Liu has appeared on the series "Ally McBeal," which starred Calista Flockhart, and the films "Charlie's Angels" and "Kill Bill."
