In The Nick Of Time: TVXQ's Changmin Protects SHINee's Taemin And EXO's D.O At SMTOWN Concert In Taiwan

In the nick of time, a god of the east saved two Korean idols.

A fan camera from SM Entertainment's concert SM Town Taipei Live on March 21 garnered attention after fans spotted an almost deadly accident. However, before any SM Entertainment idols could be injured mid-concert, a member of TVXQ noticed the issue and kept anything from going amiss.

Several SM Entertainment singers have garnered injuries from stage malfunctions in 2015, but TVXQ's Max Changmin kept SHINee's Taemin and EXO's D.O from causing an additional incident.

The two singers were standing on a spot of the SM Town stage where a piece of equipment began to descend quickly from above. While in the middle of singing, neither D.O nor Taemin noticed the device, but Changmin took note and pulled D.O away before acting quickly to push Taemin out of the way before the fast-approaching apparatus hit his head.

Although disaster was avoided, other EXO members were injured earlier in March during the idol group's The EXO'luXion concert series in Seoul. Two members, Kai and Tao, were injured during performances, with the former hurt after a malfunction on stage led to him falling through the stage's floor mid-song. Both idols attended SMTOWN Taipei Live.

AllKpop had previously reported an incident during rehersals at SMTOWN Taipei Live where several members of Girls' Generation were nearly hurt while testing out moving stage platforms. However, none of the members were seriously injured.

SMTOWN Taipei Live featured BoA, Kangta, TVXQ, Super Junior, SHINee, f(x), Girls' Generation, EXO, Tasty, Red Velvet and SMROOKIES. Several prominent SM Entertainment idol group members did not attend due to scheduling conflicts.
