All good things must come to an end. Once thought as inseparable, Jon Bon Jovi is now working on a new album without his buddy Richie Sambora, while the guitarist is making strides with Orianthi.

"I was in the studio all day working on the new record. I walked here from the studio."

"I just read the paper, it gives you an opportunity to write something. It's early but I'm about a dozen songs in. I feel good," when asked where he gets the inspiration on writing new materials.

Meanwhile, Richie Sambora had an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock about why he thinks Bon Jovi is still one of the most beloved bands. He said it is because of the distinct sound and style of song-writing.

"I think [it was about] good songs and the authenticity didn't really change." Sambora states. "You know, you can't all of a sudden [be] Bon Jovi and turn into f-in' Pink Floyd! Some bands try that and it doesn't work. Stick to who you are and be authentic - I think that was a big part of it - and then just go out there and work," 

"I don't care what band you're in - you're a live band, you've got to go out there and prove it every night, and we did. We kept on working really, really hard. It was all hard work and that work ethic never stopped. We're blue-collar kids at heart," Sambora concludes.

Also, he was asked what's keeping him away from Bon Jovi.

"I just needed some kind of change," he says. "It's not about money; it's about music."

He also said that he found an important musical partner when he met Orianthi, an Australian guitarist who has been getting the attention of many with her fretwork. She worked with the likes of Michael Jackson and Alice Cooper. As he told Ultimate Classic Rock, the pair have been getting the groove since they started collaborating a year ago.
