YouTube Features Big Bang, 2NE1 Facts In Music Award Twitter Posts

Ealier this week as part of their YouTube Music Awards celebrations, YouTube shared a few tidbits that highlighted the immense popularity of Big Bang and 2NE1 videos on the platform.

Posting on Twitter, YouTube noted that Big Bang videos have amassed more than a billion views, a feat made even more breathtaking when it mirrors the number of smartphones sold last year.

"#YTMA Fact: BIGBANG's videos have 1.2 BILLION total views​ - the ​same amount ​of ​smartphones sold globally in 2014," said YouTube in one tweet.

Meanwhile, 2NE1's most recent album title track "Come Back Home" has seen more than 34 million views. "#YTMA Fact: You've watched enough of 2NE1's "Come Back Home" to get us to the 24th century (285.6 years)," said YouTube in another tweet.

With YouTube broadcasting these acknowledgments to their whopping 49.8 million followers, throngs of fans for both groups rallied around their favorite idols and showered them with congratulations and praise.

"Dude they are the kings," and "I'll bet if Big Bang actually had produced a new single since 2012, there'd be even more views," said Big Bang fans.

"Queens forever," "Legends," and "We need them in America!" said 2NE1 fans.

The YouTube Music Awards - or YTMA for short - is an awards show presented by the world's most popular video-sharing website to "recognize the biggest and emerging artists to watch on YouTube in 2015."
