System Of A Down New Album Coming After 2015 Tour? Serj Tankian Reveals Future Of Band

While on tour this 2015, System Of A Down vocalist Serj Tankian revealed that the band may have something in store for fans after they do their road shows.

Rolling Stone was able to talk to the band and Tankian was able to give a little hint about the band's future. He said that after the tour, they would sit down and see if there will be anything in store for the group.

"There has been talk, and we are going to play this tour, come back and we're going to see where we are," the SOAD frontman said. "If we have songs that work for System, if I have them and Daron [Malakian, guitar] has them. The openness is there to work together, but we haven't made any particular plans that we can announce."

Tankian, who is known to be closer to his fans rather than the media, assured their followers that they would announce it to them before everyone else would know about it.

"They will be the first to know," he said. "Fans will know before the press knows, I assure you."

In accordance to their 2015 tour, the 47-year-old singer said that their tour commemorates the 100th year anniversary of the Armenian genocide.

"This is a recommitment and expansion of some of the work that we've been doing with the Armenian genocide for years," Tankian said. "The whole "Souls" concept became a tour, and it's something that we all believe in because we're all children of survivors of the genocide. It's important for the recognition of the genocide as an end result, as well as attaining justice."
