Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Kevin Love And Russell Westbrook Planning A Reunion In LA? Will Westbrook Jump Ship Once He Becomes A Free Agent?

Kevin Love and Russell Westbrook was a formidable duo back in their days with UCLA. Love, set to become an unrestricted free agent this off-season, has his name linked to Los Angeles Lakers. Westbrook, on the other hand, might be interested to team-up with his former teammate.

According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, there is a possibility of Love and former teammate Russell Westbrook reuniting in Los Angeles via Nick Dudukovich of FanSided:

"Love enjoys Westbrook. They have a relationship. There's a conspiracy theory that exists out there that Kevin Love will go to the Lakers this summer, or next summer, and then Westbrook will join him when he's a free agent, and they will reunite in LA, like they played for UCLA. The guy, the star player he has the best relationship in the league with is Westbrook."

Love, averaging 16.7 points and 10.2 rebounds for the Cavaliers this season, accepted the fact that he is having a hard time adjusting to Cleveland's style of play. This makes it less appealing for Love to sign a long-term contract with the Cavs.

Alonzo Mourning spoke with Slam Online about Love's current status with the Cavs. He said that Love will be a better fit with the Los Angeles Lakers. He also pointed out Heat superstar LeBron James' decision to leave the Heat.

"Why walk away from a dynasty when you have to go somewhere and rebuild, basically?" Mourning said of James' decision to return to Cleveland. "Then you've got Kevin Love, who's not happy at all. He's outta there."

In addition, Mourning is sure that the former UCLA star will leave the Cavaliers to make a second run in Los Angeles.

"I think he's probably going to go to LA. I could see that," Mourning said when asked where he thinks Love will sign when he becomes an unrestricted free agent after the current season or in the summer of 2016."
