JOO Joins Woollim Entertainment Following Contract Expiration With JYP

Having left the JYP Entertainment nest earlier this year, solo artist JOO (also known by her musical actress stage name Jung Min Joo) has found a welcoming new home in Woollim Entertainment, reports Allkpop.

An unnamed insider revealed on April 7 that JOO has signed with Woollim Entertainment, joining the likes of INFINITE, Lovelyz and Nell.

JOO's new label seems to appreciate her strengths and see her potential as an multi-talented artist which convinced them to take her in as part of their growing family.

"JOO and we have decided to join together for the future. There was no particular connection, but we believe she has a lot of potential and came to this good conclusion after a meeting with her," a representative from Woollim Entertainment reportedly said.

JOO debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2008, she opted to go back as a trainee to further hone her talents before making another comeback in 2011 with the single "Bad Guy."

She then debuted as a musical actress, playing the leading actress in Youthful March in 2011 and as Brenda in Catch Me If You Can in 2012. She then snagged a plum role as the lead actress in the musical remake of Full House opposite B2ST member Yoseob.

But in January 2015, JOO's exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment expired.

"It was the right choice for both of us. We discussed what's best for JOO's future, and the contract was ended on good terms," a representative from JYP Entertainment reportedly said, according to Allkpop.
