2NE1's Dara And WINNER's Kang Seungyoon Reported To Star As Ex-Lovers In Web Drama 'We Broke Up'

A YG Entertainment love affair will blossom on the small screen as Dara and Kang Seungyoon are set to play the roles of ex-lovers in the upcoming web drama We Broke Up, according to OSEN.

Dara is a member of 2NE1 while Seungyoon is a member of WINNER, two groups which are housed under the music label YG Entertainment, so it will be interesting to see their on-screen chemistry.

The drama is said to start filming this month and air by summer, and the thrilling casting news has propelled "We Broke Up" as a hot trending hashtag on Twitter.

A translation of the original OSEN report revealed that We Broke Up will be based on the popular Naver webtoon, continuing what seems to be a booming trend of web drama adaptations.

Dara and Seungyoon will be caught up in a "strange story" of a couple that dated as students but continued to live together even after their break up, the reason to which we should be able to find out by watching the web drama.

Dara will play as Noh Woori, described by the translated report as an "a job applicant as well as an alpha woman who lives with ex boyfriend" while Seungyoon will play as Ji Wonyoung, a struggling indie band singer who works hard to support his music through part-time jobs.

Dara seems to be kicking her acting career into high gear. She is currently starring in the ongoing web drama Dr. Ian, and will likely proceed to filming We Broke Up immediately once the former finishes.
